1. What is the Melp app?

We describe the Melp app as ‘having a therapist in your pocket’. It’s designed to be your very own ‘Mental Health Toolkit’, available 24/7.

The app contains a wide variety of videos, audio recordings and written resources to help with a number of common mental health issues, as well as therapeutic approaches. The resources have been created by a wide range of experts and we are adding new items every month.

2. Who created it?

The app was the brainchild of the Founder and Director of The Holistic Healthcare Group, Sophie Kirk.

Sophie is passionate about mental health education – always aiming for ‘prevention rather than cure’. The Melp app was created to offer support and resources to help the reduce the need for specialist or external support. The app has been expanded and developed with the help of many therapists – experts in their fields.

3. Who is Melp aimed at?

The app is for everyone!

We recommend suitability for age 14+, simply because of the range of issues that are covered. However, this is not to say without the right guidance certain resources can not be shared with younger children.

The app is ‘self-guided’ so that individuals can choose items that resonate with them and how they are feeling at a particular time.

Interestingly, our research shows that many men prefer Melp to 1-2-1 therapy options. 60% of our Melp app users identify as male versus just 30% of those that access therapy via our virtual clinics.

4. What can Melp help with?

The Melp app offers support for the following areas:

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Insomnia
  • Fear
  • Panic
  • Lack of motivation
  • Building resilience

Life is full of ups and downs. This app is not about ‘curing’ mental health issues, it’s about support for emotional well-being at all times. It’s about having resources that you can turn to before a mental health issue becomes an emergency.

Melp supports your mental health, well-being and emotional development – something we need throughout our lives.

There are over 100 multi-media resources, and we are always adding more, but if there is something specifically you feel is missing, then we love to hear feedback from our subscribers, about both the app content and the user experience.
